If you want to make a lot of money, you will need to train as a miner. Through the training you would able to learn many skills that pertain to the profession of blacksmith and engineers. You can choose to master either of the professions or a combination of both though it is not necessary.
The first thing you would need to do when you want to train as a miner is to buy a pick and go forward to find a trainer. In order to find directions on how to find one, ask a guard. The pick would be available with the trade merchants around your chosen trainer. As soon as your training period is over and you are ready, look at the task bar for the ‘find minerals’ button and BINGO - you will be able to see all the mineral veins available to you.
In order to get the most out of your World of Warcraft gold mining skills, you would need to be diligent in finding the right vein which would usually be around established mines and popular quest sites. There is a wide choice of ore for your mining skills - choose from among thorium, steel, indrium, tin, copper, bloodstone, gold, dark iron, rich thorium, etc.
As you find out about the different ore, you would be able to learn a lot about them including method to make your own alloys and their value in the Auction House.
