Let’s be clear - if you are caught using it, a World of Warcraft exploit will get you banned from the game. Cheating might not, but exploits definitely will. So be careful if you decide to use them. Some WoW exploits might take advantage of loopholes or holes in the program, and sometimes these are patched - so any World of Warcraft exploits or hacks might, at any time, be rendered useless.

The examples below are considered (illegal) exploits:

  • Dismissing a Hunter’s pet without any cast time is done while the pet is out and clicking “Revive Pet”.
  • If you feed your pet something that is not part of its diet but doesn’t harm it.
  • If you use the Auto-Unstuck feature to obtain unlimited Hearthstone.
  • If you skip out on battles or arenas without taking a penalty to get rid of the Desert Debuff.
Hacks aren’t necessarily cheating, but can be fun and profitable:
  • See Mob weapon drops before they are killed: in the Alter of Storms in the Blasted Lands, if monsters are going to drop a weapon or offhand item, you will see them carrying it instead of their usual defeat weapon. Kill someone you see carrying the Glowing Brightwood Staff or Krol Blade and you’ll score the gold it’s made from.
  • Sell something for more than it’s worth: if you have an epic/blue you wish to sell, put it in the auction house for more than it is worth (eg 500 instead of 250). Then, advertise it on the trade channel. Log into your main and pretend to be someone else, advertising that you want to buy the item for a higher amount again (700). Some people are so greedy that they will purchase the item for the amount you advertised, and then try to sell it to you for the amount you wanted to buy one for (700). Just tell the buyer that you already had an offer.
  • Easy Warrior weapon skill-ups: find an undead skeleton or ghost type mob that is immune to rend. Charge them and continuously rend (it will be immune but will still count as a swing and you will still level up the skill). You won’t lose your rage either as the mob is immune and won’t need to do any damage as it continues to rend.

This is a legal World of Warcraft exploit – it is sort of cheating, but you won’t get in trouble for it: Stealing another player’s guild raid-id (the game thinks they gave it to you).

There are many websites that show you how to quickly progress up levels – for example, what places to visit to obtain the quests you need to advance to level 70. Others show you how to play from a private server so you can boost the amount of gold you can earn.

Be careful, too, that the WoW exploit you’re using is applicable to the version you are running – no point trying to use an exploit if it won’t work on your version. Some exploits require a certain level, so make sure you’re eligible to use them (otherwise they won’t work).

World of Warcraft exploits, cheats and hacks might help you get ahead quicker or easier than others, but beware that you won’t lose everything you’ve worked for by being booted out.
